The name Michael comes from the Hebrew for “who is like God” which is fitting as Michael is one of the main Archangels – said to be closest to God our Creator.

Michael is often described as the strongest Archangel, fighting the battle for good over evil. Michael is often depicted in art wielding a sword or a spear. In other depictions Michael may be holding scales, or slaying Satan as a dragon.
